Her story.......
Barbara Gayle Crispin gave her first performance in the delivery room of a hospital in Denver, Colorado in the late 70s. (Unfortunately, records of Gayle's exact birth date were destroyed when they fell into a vat of Oil of Olay.) Gayle had to learn early how to use her sense of humor to survive the harsh city streets. (And by harsh we mean comfortable. And by streets we mean quiet, residental neighborhood). Since there was already one Barbara in the house, her parents decided to call her Gayle. A decision that would follow her for the remainder of her life and force her to be plagued with questions like "Wait, so Gayle's your MIDDLE name"?
Gayle attended Steven Elementary School, Morey Middle School, and East High School and is proof that relatively normal people can come out of the public school system. Gayle was her high school newspaper copy editor and yearbook photo editor and even played field hockey. (She had a short career on the women's basketball team...seriously.)
She went on to study political science at George Washington University. She was very active with the University music program (elected band president her Junior year - now THAT'S what I call GEEKY!) But hey it paid a lot of her college tuition so why don't you just shut up about the band geek thing already.
After a brief stint as a PR assistant and and even briefer stint as a paralegal, Gayle moved up to NYC to live with her sister, Christina. The sister has since moved to Rochester, but Gayle is here to stay. She recently committed to writing and performing full time and is hoping that this new dedication pays off (her credit card bills.) During the night she can be found in area clubs, coffee shops, and the gym...working on her act and developing the next blockbuster film (or the least rented film at Netflix.) But perhaps none of that will happen and she'll marry some nice young man and move to the country where she can pursue a career as a bee keeper. But we'll leave the ending up to Hollywood. For now, just know she's a quirky, short, and really funny. Just like this bio.
